The principle of the Call to Family and the Option for Poor underscored LCCB’s testimony in front the Health Disparities in Rural Areas Task Force. Louisiana is sick as of the Task Force Members stated with Louisiana having some of the poorest health outcomes in the nation.

The LCCB testified and offered a framework of LCCB sponsored legislation that looks at poverty as a driver and offered the social determinants of health and standards of care to address poverty as ways to collaborate with the Task Force that identified poverty as a driver.
