“We need to participate for the common good. Sometimes we hear: a good Catholic is not interested in politics. This is not true: good Catholics immerse themselves in politics by offering the best of themselves so that the leader can govern.” – Pope Francis, 9/16/13

On May 18th 2022, catholic leaders from around the area gathered for the 1st Faithful Citizenship Day for Catholics at the Capitol. Participants prayed, were briefed on the LCCB priorities for the 2022 session, participated in committee meetings, celebrated the Eucharist, engaged with legislators over lunch to listen to how faith formed their public life and attended chamber debates. The leaders were recognized in the Senate Chamber for their work toward the common good.
